The British Mountaineering Council (BMC)
The representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hillwalkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers.
Mountain Leader Training Board
Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE), formerly the Mountain Leader Training Board, was set up in 1964 to develop training and assessment courses in mountaineering. That work has developed to the stage where MLTE now administers the Summer Mountain Leader, the Walking Group Leader and the Single Pitch Awards.
The Alpine Club
The object of the Alpine Club is to promote mountain climbing and exploration throughout the world, develop a better knowledge of the mountains through literature, science and art and through its meetings and publications, encourage protection of the mountain environment, and conserve the Club's heritage.
British Mountain Guides
Their members hold the highest internationally recognised qualification for instruction and guiding in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering and off-piste skiing and ski touring- the coverted IFMGA carnet.
