The Edelrid Pinch is an assisted braking belay device for sport climbs, multi-pitch routes, and rope access techniques. Versatile enough for use when lead climbing, belaying a second, top-roping, and abseiling, it increases safety and is easy to use. It can be attached directly to your harness belay loop. It positions the belay close to the body, which lets you pay out rope faster and increases brake rope control. This option removes the risk of cross-loading the carabiner or unlocking the gate. It can also be attached with a belay carabiner and used as a regular cam-assisted braking device. When used during multi-pitch climbing, the Pinch can be attached to the belay station in four directions in 90 increments.
