This performance comes with an excellent price, offering fantastic value for money. 9.8mm is the modern standard width; it maintains very high safety margins and low impact forces while allowing quicker clipping, more responsive belaying and reduced rope drag. The Serpent has undergone a thermal stabilising process to ensure the core and sheath are perfectly balanced. This treatment is what makes the Serpent remain compact and supple throughout its life.
