Petzl's Fixe is a durable pulley wheel. Ideal for use in an improvised haul system, its fixed side plates make it strong and durable. It is quick to install on the rope, even under tension in a rescue situation. It's also easy to attach to an ascender to reduce drag when climbing a rope. The Fixe is best used with an oval carabiner to prevent cross-loading. You can use it with ropes from 7-13 mm in diameter, and with 71% efficiency, it makes hauling easier.
