Petzl's Grigri is a favourite with climbers for good reason. It's a compact belay device with assisted braking. Its handled camming mechanism enables precise descent control, improving comfort while belaying, holding a climber, catching a fall, or abseiling. On multi-pitch routes, you can use the Grigri as an auto-blocking device to belay directly off an anchor. This saves energy compared to using a regular friction tubular device in guide mode. Compatible with single ropes between 8.5 11mm in diameter, the Grigri is suitable for indoor sessions and days at the crag.
